Reliable copy
Docoon's time-stamping, eIDAS-qualified signature and archiving solutions give digital copies a probative value (reliability).
This is a reliable copy whose legal conformity (integrity and durability) is recognized. Find out more about PDP electronic invoicing and our electronic signature software.

Presentation
Since Decree no. 2016-1673 of December 5, 2016, a digital copy of a paper document is presumed reliable, provided that all suitable means are employed for its creation and preservation.
Reliable copying makes it possible to replace paper originals, enabling companies to do away with the need to keep paper originals and take their digitalization one step further.
It also enables the burden of proof to be reversed in the event of a dispute over a document, if it is produced in accordance with Decree no. 2016-1673 of December 5, 2016.

Expertise
Docoon regulatory expertise
Docoon regulatory expertise :
Art. 1379 - "A reliable copy has the same probative value as the original. Reliability is left to the judge's discretion".
From a paper original :
The reliable copy can replace the paper original, offering companies the possibility of eliminating the retention of paper originals and taking a further step in their digitization.
The reliable copy also enables the reversal of the burden of proof in the event of a dispute over a document, if it is produced in accordance with the conditions specified in Decree no. 2016-1673 of December 5, 2016.
From a natively electronic document :
Still in accordance with the conditions specified in Decree no. 2016-1673 of December 5, 2016, a presumption of reliability is recognized, as soon as the document is signed electronically, provided that the identity of the issuer is assured and that it is possible to prove the connection of this electronic writing to the person from whom it emanates, and that the integrity of this electronic writing is ensured for the duration of the retention obligations (Digital Safe).
Metadata imposed by the decree and required by the standard must be added to the image of the original document.
This includes at least :
- file format
- of this file's footprint
- the date and time the copy was created (the scanning date)
- the file's unique reference, e.g. a unique number
